It’s been too long since I’ve sat down to write about my angel. A lot hasĀ  happened since the last time I visited this space.

My daughter has starting sleeping through the night. She doesn’t do it every night, but she does it more often than she doesn’t. And when she does wake up, it’s only for a short period of time. I’m not even sure I completely wake up for it. I just stumble through the night as my wife allows me to pretend I’m helping.

She also got her first tooth. Two of them actually and it looks like the top ones aren’t far away. Soon she’ll have a big toothy grin. I can’t believe how sharp her teeth are. The days of her biting my finger are coming to a close.

Most recently, she’s on the move now. Sunday she took her first three crawl steps. She didn’t have any interest in going after her toys, but is working her hardest to grab everything the dog touches. When she really gets this crawling thing down, the dog is in real trouble. And and the dog doesn’t even realize it yet.

It dawned on me tonight that I’m not getting any tougher with my daughter. The firm father figure really hasn’t shown up yet. Luckily, I haven’t had to be that person.

I think my daughter may actually be cuter now than she was when she was born. She’s really beginning to show her personality now, and its nothing short of adorable. It seems like she makes friends wherever she goes — the store, the mall, church or around the block. She’s just a beam of light that people want to be around. Including me.
